In this article, I’m going to show you how to get free money from Amazon.
It’s not technically free, but it’s money that you would have otherwise lost had you not been proactive.
Amazon is supposed to reimburse you for items they lose or damage in their warehouse.
They usually do a pretty good job at this, but due to their large size, sometimes not all of the necessary reimbursements are made.
You can often recover extra money that hasn’t been reimbursed simply by taking action.
In this article, I will show you exactly how to extract every last penny that Amazon owes you.
Step 1: Go to Amazon Seller Central
Step 2: Go to Reports -> Fulfillment

Step 3: Click on Inventory Ledger

Step 4: Click on the download tab

Step 5: Select Detailed view and set the date range to 365 days (or 180 days if this isn’t your first time doing this.

Step 6: Download the report to your computer and open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
Step 7: Sort sheet by the “Reason” column. Delete all rows that have no reason or a reason other than “E” or “M”

My spreadsheet was originally 20k entries. I narrowed it down to 80+ units that I need to manually request a review from Amazon.
Step 8: Click on Help to open a case

Step 9: Describe your issue

Step 10: Press continue and select “Inventory damaged in FBA warehouse”

Step 11: Copy Reference ID from your spreadsheet

Step 12: Paste transaction ID into the case

Step 13: Press continue

Step 14: Create a case

Step 15: Wait for reimbursement and repeat for all other items on your spreadsheet
Step 16: Repeat every 6 months
Conclusion:
You don’t need to do this every month. I recommend you at least do this every 6 months so that you can recover more funds that you can use to buy more inventory.
I’ve been selling for almost 12 months and recently did this for the first time.
I was able to get reimbursed for products that I sold over 8 months ago and completely forgot about.
Best regards,
Alex Chung
