I started selling used books on Amazon in May 2022. When I began, I had no money or credit and did 4 UberEats trips a day to make $40, which I then used to buy books at Dollar Tree, Goodwill and Salvation Army. I did this every single day for months.

I have been doing books with great success over the past 2 years and want to make the jump to selling other things. My question is what’s your normal ROI when decided to by a product to resell when doing retail arbitrage? Do you have a cut off or % you stick too? Thanks for watching and checking out the blog. For retail arbitrage, I like to stay above 30-40% if possible, meaning for every $10 I put into products I’d like to profit $3-4, but for items with a sub 10K rank, I might go as low as 20-25% but never for slower selling items. That being said, there are many retail arbitrage items that have 100-300% ROI, similar to selling books which I love to capitalize on.

Yes just to be cleared I’m not trying to make a quick buck here and I’m want to do the hard work and dedication. For starters if I should something to Amazon like 3 items. Do you get paid right away or do you get paid once someone buys the item of Amazon?

Hello Ericson, you get paid once your items sell. If you are doing FBA, you have to wait for AMZ to receive your shipment before the items become available. With FBM you can sell very fast.
